bikes berries and beaches

This is what we have been doing lately.

Evening bike ride adventures with friends.

Tyler and Katy are engaged! After 5 years, Tyler proposed to his beautiful girlfriend while we were at the coast last weekend. And yes, if you are wondering, he REALLY DID wear the knight in shining armor suit as he rode up on a horse! It was so fun to be a part of it. Love you two cutie pies.

And of course, being an Oregonian now, I pick and eat berries constantly. I think it is my favorite part of living here. (Don't worry y'all, Texas is forever and always my one true love.)

And last, but not least, our HUGE cilantro plant (naturally I had to throw in more berries). And just for the record, I do realize that the amount of pictures I post of our garden may classify as borderline obsessive. BUT, we don't have kids yet so what do you expect? For now, this is what ya get.

Love the life you live. We sure do.

Father's Day Weekend

My favorite weekends are when we get to see family. This weekend, Brol's parent's came to town so we spent time with them, Uncle T, and Auntie Edna.

Friday night we went to the Cinnebarre for dinner and a movie.

Saturday morning we went to the temple, then spent the afternoon boating. Nothin' better than a Sunny day spent on the lake! The Haslam's brought their boat out too and we had a great time.

And today, we celebrated Father's Day at Uncle T and Auntie's house. As always we ate WAY too much delicious food! And who can beat this Sunday afternoon view? WOW!

And I just have to show how wonderful this is. Stuffed salmon, tri-tip, strawberry salad, veggies, baked beans, potatoes, and rolls. Plus cheesecake and apple pie for dessert. We don't take our celebrations lightly in this family, as you can see!

Happy Father's Day to those great dad's out there. I sure do love my daddio. :) You are the best!

strawberry time

I'm feeling pretty domestic after this past week. I made my first freezer jam with some girlfriends, Maggie and Anne. We used fresh picked strawberries that were so delicious. I'm sure I ate at LEAST three pounds of strawberries all by myself within a few hours. I couldn't stop! Making the jam was so much simpler than I thought it would be. We had a blast and ended up with way too much. YUM!

SUMMER IS HERE!

Brolin has become quite the gardner lately. We love the idea of growing all of our own produce and knowing that it isn't covered in harmful chemicals. We don't have too much planted this year, but it's a start. One day we plan on having a greenhouse full of delicious fruits and veggies. For now, we are pretty proud of our little garden. It is so fun to work in it and we love enjoying the benefits of it!

Our snow peas are growing-- and they are delicious too!

One of the best things about Oregon... strawberries from the garden!

I love working so close to home. I get to go home for lunch every day and have fun picnics with this cute guy. What more could I want?!

Beautiful view on our bike ride. We have been loving every second of this warm summer weather! It doesn't get much prettier than this.

Life is good.
