not wanting to leave...

It has been so much fun spending time in Burns and we are sad to leave. Tomorrow, Brolin and I, drive back to Monmouth so he's all ready for school on Monday. We will be happy to be back home, but will definitely miss being with family! It's been a blast.

Slip n' slide fun!

family weekend in burns

It's been quite the week in Burns. Brolin and I drove out here last Thursday and spent the weekend with the whole famiy. Little Joshy isn't doing well, so its been a mixture of emotions. Nikki and Selene came down from school, as well as Karsten, Leah and Brinley. The whole family was here and I think Josh could sense that. Aside from that part of the trip, we did all sorts of fun things together like, swimming, 4-wheeling, longboarding (I FINALLY GOT MINE!!) watched movies, ate big dinners, the boys even attempted to hang glide...yes, I got pictures and video footage!

The wind was perfect for flying kites.

We love spending time with family! Brolin and I are actually staying another week so we can be here with his mom and help with the kids and Josh. Luckily he doesn't start school until next Monday, so it's perfect! Life is good and we have been loving every moment of it.  Tomorrow is supposed to be warm, so we're planning a slip n' slide with the kids, pictures to come!

picnic in the park

Last Thursday we had a picnic with some friends and family. Aunty Edna and Uncle Tony came, as well as their son Duane and his son, Taylor. Duane and Tony are training to compete in a roping contest in Nevada this week so they've been busy these last few months! It was fun to see everybody and we ate lots of yummy food!

my man

I am so thankful for a husband who works so hard at everything. The poor guy has been sick for over a week and he STILL never stops working. It hit him pretty hard this time, but he gets up every morning, goes to work, comes home and works on my car to make sure its ready for me. He did finish it by the way, so after putting in the new motor and new radiator, I think it's safe to say my husband is a mechanic. :) He is so good at everything he does and I'm so thankful for his hard work to support us. (Okay, bragging post over now.)

Sick and tired after a long day of work and this is how I find him on the floor!

pizza + friends = success

Last night we had our friends Keri and Kyle over for dinner. We made delicious homemade pizzas and salad. In case you didn't know,  my wonderful husband used to be the Papa Murphy's pizza pro, so we were spoiled with his gourmet abilities. :) It was delicious!

Pesto sauce, feta cheese, sun dried tomatoes, and spinach --Yum!

summer happenings

I love summer time. Surrounded by soft, green grass, smells that clear my senses, sunshine that warms my skin, friends gathered together, days spent at the lake, camping around a fire...what's not to love? Stacy and Tyler are some of our good friends that we've been hanging out with lately and we've definitely been livin' it up! This is us riding quads in Stayton.

a love fern

So I was standing in the kitchen making dinner one night, and I hear the front door open and slam shut. with the biggest smile on his face, Brolin runs to the back door and tells me he bought us a surprise. And what do I see when I look out the back? A tomato plant! Yes, that's really the surprise. We are now proud gardeners and have since added to our lonely tomato plant, a cherry tomato plant and a strawberry plant. And Brolin built the perfect little box for them after work one day. I love my hot, handy husband.
